Virtual Playground

Virtual Playground

Virtual playground: BEAM Interactive Floor

The BEAM Floor will be a highly effective, captivating interactive floor for kids as it allows multiple users to move, jump, run, dance and use their hands at the same time. Kids can spend hours engaged in playing games and moving around to set the sounds and graphics in motion!

The interactive floor is primarily designed for young children, but it can easily keep the whole family entertained. BEAM’s revolutionary technology gives children the opportunity to explore, discover, and interact. BEAM enhances not only brain development, but also gross and fine motor skills. LightUp Peg Wall

LiteZilla is the most popular giant Lite-Brite in the world and will become a highlight of your family’s visit to Turning Point Discovery Center! Children will be able to insert the colorful LitePins into the backlit grid to create and illuminate their own pictures, patterns, and designs. And at the top we will feature our Turning Point Discovery Center logo created from fixed LitePins!

STEM learning is fun. It fosters important skills like critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. It’s never too early to introduce STEM to your children, and TPDC is a great place to enhance what they’re learning!

Coding Activities

Kids will drag and drop jigsaw puzzle pieces of code to complete various coding challenges including debugging and fixing broken code; remoting vehicles, robots and drones; and building simple- to advanced-programs within the game.

This includes being able to create mini-games within the 3D game world, for example a racing game or game of pong using a player-controlled robot versus Al-controlled robot that they can then play! (Ages 10+)
